The History of Aviasur: Innovation and Growth

Since its takeoff in 2009, Aviasur has charted a course that blends innovation, expansion, and a strong commitment to executive aviation in Chile and Latin America. With each passing year, the company has broken new ground, opening pathways in the industry and building a legacy that continues to soar.

2009: The Takeoff

It all started in 2009 when AVIASUR became the exclusive representative of Hawker Beechcraft in Chile. With the establishment of its Aeronautical Maintenance Center (CMA), they took their first steps by offering specialized services approved by the DGAC, catering to the needs of their initial clients in the country.

2010-2016: Accelerating Growth

Just a year later, the construction of a new hangar and the launch of Charter On Demand marked the beginning of their private flight service. In 2013, AVIASUR struck a deal with Universal Weather & Aviation, further enhancing their private terminal. By 2016, they had solidified their position as exclusive representatives for Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker in Chile, sealing their partnership with Textron Aviation. With international certifications in hand, including from Argentina's ANAC, Aviasur was continuing to expand its capabilities!

2017-2019: New Horizons

In 2017, the company achieved the prestigious IS-BAO certification, affirming its high standards of safety and operations. The following year, they broke records in sales and maintenance services, while inaugurating new facilities. But they didn’t stop there: in 2019, AVIASUR expanded beyond Chile, opening an FBO in Pisco, Peru, further promoting corporate aviation in the region.

2020-2024: Limitless Growth

The past few years have been a period of consolidation and regional expansion for Aviasur. In 2020, the opening of new terminals and the growth of aircraft sales demonstrated their ability to adapt to new business models. In 2023, with the opening of their commercial office in Miami, Aviasur established a key base in the United States to offer Charter services, travel support, and more.

In 2024, the expansion continues with the launch of a Maintenance Center in Uruguay, focused on serving executive aviation in Argentina, Bolivia, and Paraguay. This is complemented by their strategic partnership with Garmin Aviation, consolidating their position as Garmin’s exclusive representative in Chile and enhancing their technological offerings in general aviation.

Today, Aviasur continues to soar toward new opportunities, leading the executive aviation industry with a clear vision for the future.
